Philip Butler, Executive Vice President, Strategic Development
Mr. Butler is responsible for supporting further strategic acquisitions in new high growth areas and their integration within the Premier Research Group. He has global oversight of the service areas of Medical Devices and Functional Sourcing. Mr. Butler joined Premier Research early in 2005 as Vice President of International Operations with overall responsibility for the Project Management, Clinical Monitoring and Biometrics groups. Mr. Butler has 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working both for pharmaceutical companies and within the CRO sector. For the past 10 years, Mr. Butler has held senior operational positions leading international and global departments. Mr. Butler began his career working as a medical representative in the sales force of Sanofi before moving into their medical department as a CRA where he performed a number of roles delivering clinical studies in all phases for both licensed and development compounds. He then moved into the project management group of Innovex where he was responsible for the execution of large late-phase national studies and then international projects. His last position at Innovex was Director of Clinical Operations with responsibility for both the insourcing and outsourcing aspects of the business. He subsequently headed up the international monitoring function of ClinTrials Research, before moving to Covance where he held international, global resourcing, operational analysis and planning positions. Most recently, Mr. Butler was the Senior Director of Clinical Operations at MDS Pharma Services. Mr. Butler received his degree in biology from Manchester University and a diploma in clinical science from University of Cardiff.
