Dr. Bandy, was raised in El Paso, Texas, and attended both the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas at El Paso. In 1978, he received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After graduation, he entered the military to participate in a general practice residency at General Leonard Wood Army Hospital and later completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Bandy is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow in the American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In 1994, he located his private practice to San Marcos, Texas. Dr. Bandy has been active in clinical research studies that evaluate investigational pain medication following wisdom teeth removal for more than 11 years. He has been involved in over 75 clinical trials.
